Principals’ Morning Message ~ November 2nd

Happy Week 12!  Hope you remembered to turn your clocks back one hour for daylight savings time.  We had a great last week of celebrating Halloween with lots of fun and creative activities. We want to send great appreciation to Shari O’Neil, Nicole Selçuk, and all our Staff for making the virtual events fun and engaging.

This month of November, we also want to begin celebrating Native American Heritage Month. Please see the slide deck for information and resources.

Some reminders for this week

1. Some important dates for you during November:

a. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd! Parents and guardians – we strongly encourage you to exercise your right to vote! Francis Scott Key is a polling place so you may stop by on Tuesday to cast your vote. Make your voices heard!

b. Veteran’s Day is Wednesday, November 11th. There will be NO SCHOOL (NO ZOOM classes) as we commemorate all those who have served and continue to serve.

C.  Next round of Wellness Checks and Parent-Teacher Conference Week will be from Monday, November 16th to Friday, November 20th. Your child’s teacher will schedule a time with you for your conference. Please let us know how you are doing and what support or hardship you need us to know. Our team is here to help.

d.  Thanksgiving break will be from Monday November 23rd to Friday November 27th. Classes will resume Monday, November 30th.

2.  Attention 5th grade families!  Please check out this attached flyer for the Virtual Enrollment Fair on November 12 for middle school. Due to our current circumstances and Distance Learning, all Middle School applications will happen online!  Be sure to apply by February 5, 2021.

3.  Please continue to visit our virtual office!  If your child would like to “Ask your principals a question”, they can click on the link and type in the question on the slide. Please remember to leave your name and classroom number!

Wishing everyone an engaging and exciting week of learning! Stay safe and stay kind.

Sending you all big hugs and love,

Ms. Kasner and Ms. Page
