PTA Newsletter – August 20, 2024

Greetings FSK!

It is a beautiful afternoon here on the playground, and class is in full swing.  The excitement was palpable the first day as families, students, and staff welcomed each other to the start of a new year.  It reminded me how fortunate we all are to be part of this vibrant community.

One of the things that makes this school so special is the deep and meaningful involvement of the parent and guardian body.  I invite everyone to explore the myriad opportunities available to donate your time or resources in support of our amazing staff and students:

Join the PTA: It only takes a few minutes to become a member. Absolutely anyone can join (you can even add the students and grand-friends), and once you do, you’ll be part of an active coalition working to promote and enhance the mission of our school.

Volunteer: Sign up for one of our amazing events and activities. Most are low-commitment, and lots o’ fun – not to mention a great way to meet people. Remember, many hands make light work!

Come to a meeting:  Our first PTA general meeting will be held from 6-7:30 pm on Thursday, August 29th, in the cafeteria.  Food and childcare will be provided, as well as the option to join virtually.  Details will be available on our website and posted around the school.

Drop us a line: Got an idea? We’d love to hear it!  Submit ideas, questions, and feedback to our digital suggestion box.  Looking forward to building great things together!

Hello! 👋 If you are receiving this email, you have a child attending Francis Scott Key Elementary during the 2024-25 school year or have expressed interest in FSK news. This email list is managed by the FSK PTA for sending a monthly email newsletter, highlighting school events, important deadlines, and information. We know you receive a lot of emails, so we try to keep our updates short and timely.

If you would not like to receive these emails or believe you have been added in error, you can unsubscribe here. If you have a partner who you would like to add to this list, they can subscribe on myfsk.org (scroll to the bottom of the page).

You may also receive emails from a discussion group <discussion_list@francisscottkeyschool.org>, where parents can share things like ISO sports team, information for other parents, and other general volunteering requests/details. There should not be a lot of emails in that list, but if you don’t wish to get those emails, please feel free to view the group here and unsubscribe (make sure you are logged in first to access the page).

Also, remember to renew or sign up to show your support for our school by becoming a PTA member.
