FSK MOVE-A-THON

OCTOBER 13-19, 2020

Get ready to Move! Our first ever Move-A-Thon Fundraiser takes place October 13 – 19, 2020. It is a celebration of movement and community, all while raising needed funds for our school. We need your help to raise $8,000! Money raised from students’ pledges during this event will go directly to our Outdoor Science Education & Garden program with Mr. Aaron, Grade-Level funds for our educators, and e-learning subscriptions for all 560 students (MyOn, Reading Eggs, BrainPop and MORE). Know that every dollar raised goes directly to meeting our goals in these areas to enrich our students’ education.

We’re almost at the Finish Line, FSK! By Tuesday, October 20th, please make sure your student submits their Activity Tracker (thru SeeSaw in their classroom) AND their Pledge Donation, with the help of caregiver/parent.

On October 19th, add up ALL the pledges your student received for their movement, and then please ask family/friends to send your parent/caregiver their donation to donate together in one sum or ask them to donate DIRECTLY to FSK through the link below.
By midnight on October 20th, please make sure to submit your donation of all collected pledge donations to FSK!
- All students who submit a completed 210 minute total Movement Tracker into SeeSaw AND have their family/friends submit a PLEDGE DONATION on their behalf by October 20th will be eligible for a digital certificate for a Free Boba drink at FOAM Tea House (free drink will be offered on select dates, to be shared soon)!
- We will also tally all the pledge donations, determine the TOP 3 PRIZE winners, and notify students/families soon. Stay tuned!

How can students reach their goal of movement each day and complete our tracker of 210 minutes/3.5 hours between October 13-19?

We hope you, your student, your FSK friends, and family will join us this week for our FREE, FUN, Move-A-Thon Zoom classes taught by local instructors; including: Hip Hop, Yoga, Capoeira, Martial Arts, Bollywood, Cardio Fitness, Music with Charity Kahn and the JAMBand, as well as a FABULOUS closing Celebration Dance Party!

We have so many ways to encourage students to move this week:

— participate in their P.E. class with Mr. Speidel;

— participate in their teacher’s active/fitness time in live Zoom sessions;

— participate in our daily, FREE classes (see schedule below);

— choose their own movement indoors or outdoors each day (bike, walk, scoot, skateboard, jump rope, soccer, GoNoodle, Cosmic Yoga…the choices are endless!).

How can students help raise much-needed funds for our public school?

Use the Pledge Sheet to collect pledges from family and friends and write down how much they are willing to give you per each activity square (15 minutes) to support our school. On October 19th add up all the pledges you received for all your 14 squares, and then please ask family/friends to send your parent/caregiver their donation. By October 20th, please ask your parent/caregiver to donate your entire pledge from everyone to our school! All students who submit their Activity Tracker into SeeSaw AND have their family submit a PLEDGE DONATION will be eligible for a prize. ***Please make sure to add your student’s name, grade and teacher in the “notes” section so we can match your donation to your student in order for them to be eligible for a prize.

Or, for those unable to donate online, please mail Move-A-Thon Check donations, with a check made to ‘FSK PTA’ to: FSK Move-A-Thon, Attn: Fundraising, 1530 43RD AVENUE, SF CA, 94122 by October 23rd.

We would love to have all our 565 students participate in our Move-A-Thon! If your student is unable to participate in the Move-A-Thon, we understand. Would you kindly consider a direct donation to our FSK PTA to support our school and help reach our goal? Thank you!

Prizes: Students who participate by COMPLETING and turning in their tracker sheet showing they did all 210 minutes AND have a parent/family member submit an online PLEDGE DONATION all by Tuesday October 20th, with their name in the PayPal “notes” section, are eligible for a Boba drink prize from Foam Teahouse. As an EXTRA incentive, students with the TOP 3 TOTAL PLEDGE DONATIONS will receive ADDITIONAL individual PRIZES and RECOGNITION (see flier below)! Rewards and Prize Winners will be announced after the close of the Move-A-Thon. The FSK Move-A-Thon Team has also prepared a fantastic SCHOOL SPIRIT WEEK celebration for the entire student body as a thank you to all.
