Happy Week 24! We hope you enjoyed the long weekend and spent time celebrating traditions, love and care with your family. Before we share information about the upcoming events, we want to share with you wonderful news. Please join us to congratulate our third grade teacher, Ms. Chung, and her family as they welcomed FSK’s newest little member, Tatum, who was born during this special holiday weekend. Congratulations to our Assistant Principal, Ms. Page, who just got married and is now Mrs. Adams!
This week, our teachers will continue to assess students and prepare report cards to share with families during upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences from March 8 to March 12. Please look out for the conference schedule from your child’s teacher.
PICK UP ALERT! We have received art supplies for students in grade 3, 4 & 5 for art instruction. Please follow the schedule here and stop by the school this Friday, 2/19 to pick up the materials. Enter from the FSK school yard at the scheduled time by your 3rd, 4th or 5th Grade Student’s last name (please wear a mask and distancing will be enforced for everyone’s safety):

Return Safely Together Updates
- WAVE 2 schools – SFUSD is starting to get grade 3-5 classrooms ready in the next few weeks. We will work on room space redesign and furniture re-arrangement so that each room can accommodate 14 students and 2 adults under guidance of Department of Public Health.
- Family survey for returning in-person learning is still open. If you need to update your response, please submit a new survey using the unique survey link sent to you back in December. Your new response will replace your old response.
FSK Reopening Updates:
- FSK has completed the first round of redesigning the classrooms to accommodate 14 students and 2 adults in each classroom. As you know, the return date for our first group of students has been postponed. We will keep you informed once I receive more info. Please click here to see progress.
- SFUSD In-Person Phase 2A Registration Survey Results: As of today, FSK has 186 families said “yes” to In-Person Learning which is 70% of the families from K – Grade 2. We will use this information to plan for school reopening.

- Dr. Matthews and Board of Education President Lopez issued a statement in response to an announcement that San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera is suing the SF Board of Education and SFUSD related to in-person learning.

- COVID-19 Vaccination Site for Those Over 65. For COVID-19 Vaccine updates and notification, please click on this link. ( Chinese, Spanish, Filipino). Check the date and time at the location for you. Please bring an ID with your proof of age and residency, i.e. utility bill or driver’s license.

An open-air business corridor welcoming small businesses in need of outdoor space: dance and fitness studios, makers, artists, and especially any brick and mortar business that is struggling to survive during this pandemic. Discounts: 10% off for local businesses from zip codes 94122 and 94116. 10% off for participating 3 or more days a week. 25% off for businesses that are still paying rent for brick and mortar stores. These discounts stack! This means a local business could be getting up to 45% off! Nonprofit discount of 50% or. more.
- School Meal Updates: Pandemic-EBT: Two Steps to Take. California is getting ready to issue Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) benefits for the 20-21 school year. Eligible families can receive a P-EBT card with funds to purchase food while school buildings are closed. To receive P-EBT, review the following before February 22 ~ Ensure your children are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. If you haven’t already, update your household income information online by submitting the Multipurpose Family Income Form; and Ensure your mailing address is correct. Check which address you have on file or update it by completing the Emergency Card form online in ParentVUE. The State of California will mail cards directly to families March through June. Families do not need to apply. Benefits have recently been increased by 15% and will include any August and September funds not received. Like school meals, P-EBT is available regardless of citizenship status and is not considered a “public charge.” Note: All students enrolled in Community Eligibility Provision schools, receiving CalFresh or CalWORKs, or who are homeless, migrant, or foster, are automatically eligible and do not need to submit the Multipurpose Family Income Form. Please ensure your mailing address is correct!
