Happy Week 8 of Distance Learning! We hope you enjoyed your weekend and are officially decorating for Fall! As a community, we are celebrating a couple things for the month of October. First, we are commemorating Filipinx-American History Month. Please join us to celebrate by viewing our slide deck to honor various Filipinx-Americans throughout history as well as see various resources for books, activities and events in our VIDEO.

Secondly, to support our Outdoor Environment Science program and Distance Learning, we are kicking off our first Move-A-Thon Fundraising event. We hope you, your families and friends will participate in this fun event to help our school. Make sure to join Mr. Speidel for P.E. class this week to take your first step!

- The Move-A-Thon Countdown Begins! There are 8 Days until the FSK Move-A-Thon! Kick-off is Tuesday, October 13th!
- Get your pledges using this Pledge Tracker Sheet to win an awesome prize and join your friends in FREE, fun, Zoom classes including: hip hop, yoga, capoeira, Bollywood dance, cardio, fitness, Charity and the JAMBand and a closing dance party!

Some reminders for this week:
Next Monday, October 12th is the Indigenous Peoples’ Day Holiday and therefore, we will not have school. Enjoy the extended weekend and we will see you back on Zoom on Tuesday, October 13th.
The School Site Council Election Ballot will be sent to you in a couple of days. Please cast your vote to elect members to fill the 3 vacant positions.
School Name Change Committee: Thank you for the parents and staff who volunteered to be on this committee. We would like to open the nomination for one more week. Please do fill out the form here if you would like to be part of the task force leading the process.
If you need guidance on how to support your child or are interested in learning more about navigating our SFUSD online platforms, please check out the live webinars throughout the month of October. Webinars are hosted by the Department of Technology and will take place Monday, Oct. 5 and Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 5:30 p.m. Find the link to the YouTube livestream, upcoming webinar dates, plus a recording of a previous session, slide decks, and translations on our Family Webinars page.
