Good morning students, families and staff! This is your Monday Morning message from Ms. Kasner and Ms. Page. Happy Week 3 of Phase 3 Distance Learning!
How are we doing?!? We hope things are starting to fall into place for you and that you have found your groove. To start our morning today, we would like everyone to sit back and take a mindful moment with us. Here are a few more resources for you to explore: Headspace and 25 fun mindfulness activities for kids.
As we are moving into the 7th week of shelter-in-place, we want to make sure that every member of our community is staying strong and doing well. We can not emphasize enough how much we want you to be well and how much we miss you. Check out our video [scroll to the bottom of this page] to see what we are doing to stay calm and relaxed. Please let us know how you are taking care of yourself as well.
The updates for this week are as follows:
For parents and caregivers: We know you are working your magic to juggle your work and home responsibilities, as well as your child’s school work. We hope you have still been able to find some time for yourself. Remember, as caregivers, we cannot pour from an empty cup, so we hope you are taking care of yourself as well. At the same time, we may all need a helping hand from time to time. As a team, we can help you with resources and information. Please don’t hesitate to let us know what we can do to support you and your family. We are all in this together.

Throughout the past weeks, we have had the opportunity to visit many Zoom classrooms! It is so nice to see all the children who have been fully engaged in their learning and navigating this virtual world. It has impressed us tremendously at how independent our students are, how fast they have grown and adapted to this way of learning, how they are using their critical thinking skills, how they are embracing their friendships online, how they are collaborating with their peers and building their confidence through navigating the complexity of online learning. We are so proud to say that you are ALL a wonderful representation of our FSK Vision!
As we are getting into the month of May, many questions have come up regarding end-of-year promotion activities. Our teams are doing some brainstorming and planning in the coming weeks. We will keep you informed.
Student-of-The-Month celebration: We are creating a digital way to continue our celebration of our students. Due to school closure, we are combining the announcements of March and April SOM recipients in our May 4th Monday Morning Message. Certificates will be distributed digitally by teachers.
As always, thank you for your continued support and compassion. Even though we cannot hold hands right now, we are all in this together.
Sending you all hugs and love,
Ms. Kasner and Ms. Page
