With a full and robust Resource Specialist Program, students with a variety of learning disabilities spend the majority of their day in the General Education classroom where they are exposed to the rich, standards-based curriculum being taught daily.
The Resource Teachers work closely with the classroom teachers to provide accommodations, modifications and scaffolding, so that all students are able to access and succeed with this curriculum. In addition, students are provided personalized learning in the form of small group or 1:1 instruction so that they can meet their individual goals and objectives so they can continue to make academic progress.
General education students at Francis Scott Key are kind and accepting of all students. With a focus on Growth Mindset, all students are learning that making mistakes is part of learning and growing. This helps make everyone feel included and confident in their ability to learn. Francis Scott Key is truly an inclusive environment that puts into practice the notion that EVERYONE can learn!
