After School Mindfulness Course offered by FSK Parent

Another session of mindfulness offered by fabulous FSK 3rd grade mom, Spring, is starting soon! See below:

We’re offering another skills-based mindfulness course for K-6th grade students! The goals of the course are to teach mindfulness and coping skills to youth that will support them in successfully navigating the challenges of day to day life. This series will not only teach kids how their brain works but how to make it stonger!!

Mindfulness improves our nervous system regulation and empathetic response, resulting in stronger impulse-control and better decision-making. The practice of mindfulness trains the brain to operate more efficiently, thereby resulting in stronger focus and academic improvement. In addition to a mindfulness lesson students will engage in activities creating items to bring home and help continue their practice; breathing wand, glitter jar, yoga cards and more.

The course is facilitated by Spring Smith a Mindfulness Educator trained by Mindful Schools. She has exstensive experience teaching mindfulness to youth of all ages.

The course will run for 8 sessions, from Jan 15th to Feb 7th and take place on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3pm-4pm at Manos (43rd avenue at Lawton in the Outer Sunset, San Francisco.)
